Hyundai: Zombie Proof

Just in case you are worried about the zombie apocalypse, Hyundai has tanked-up the 2013 Elantra Coupe to meet the hoards head on. Take a look at this monster, we think it would do the trick!

Though we’ve heard many colorful suggestions on what vehicle can survive the zombie apocalypse, we’re not convinced the 2013 Hyundai Elantra Coupe is best suited to the challenge. Even so, Hyundai has collaborated with Robert Kirkman, the creator of The Walking Dead comic book series, to design the 2013 Hyundai Elantra Coupe Zombie Survival
Machine which will be on display at Comic-Con, which runs from July 12-15 in San Diego.
Modifications to the 2013 Elantra Coupe Zombie Survival Machine include a spiked, zombie plow cow catcher up front; slatted armored window coverings; a sunroof hatch cage to safely shoot at zombies; an electric rear trunk for easy access to weapons; off-road tires; as well as a CB radio/PA system.
The Elantra Coupe Zombie Survival Machine will be on display in Future US’ booth along with a limited-run illustrated owner’s manual. As part of the connection between Hyundai and The Walking Dead, a 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT hatchback wrapped in the cover of the 100th issue will be given away July 31. Charlie Adlard, a longtime artist for the comic book, designed the Elantra GT’s custom wrap.

The Hyundai Veloster: Beauty and Power

They Hyundai Veloster Turbo is perfect for those looking for performance without having to take a huge hit in the wallet. Designed to get you where you need to go FAST, the turbo boasts a full suite of extra tech made to give you the best ride possible, while remaining a classy addition to the Hyundai lineup.
Hyundai might not be the first name you associate with pocket-rocket performance, but the 2013 Veloster Turbo hopes to change all that. Squeezing 201 horsepower at 6,000rpm out of a 1.6 liter turbocharged powerplant, the Veloster Turbo was first revealed earlier this year, and has now had a mightily impressive sub-$22k price tag attached.
The 2013 model year gets a styling refresh, with a gaping-mouth grille and more aggressive arches. Both 3- and 5-door versions of the hot hatch have been shown off, with prices starting from $21,950 for the 6-speed manual and rising to $22,950 for the 6-speed auto with paddle shift.
Both get a Gamma turbocharged engine, with a twin-scroll turbocharger that Hyundai promises is good for instantaneous power delivery and minimal turbo lag. There’s also some reasonable economy figures, too – well, reasonable for this sort of performance car, anyway – with 26 mpg city and 38 mpg highway results in the manual.

Hyundai Seeks to Create Fuel Efficiency Month

In order to take a stand against rising gas prices and to increase the benefits of fuel efficient vehicles, Hyundai is petitioning to create a Fuel Efficiency Month starting this August.. Hyundai's campaign seeks to encourage consumers to think about the benefits of fuel efficiency including saving money at the pump and decreased green-house gas emissions.
As Americans hit the road this summer, Hyundai Motor America aims to bring more attention to the environmental and economic benefits of driving more fuel efficiently, with the launch of its initiative to make August "National Fuel Efficiency Month." Hyundai plans to put a spotlight on fuel economy this summer with consumer tips and compelling content which inspire consumers to embrace more fuel-efficient driving, saving dollars and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Hyundai will petition Washington to deem August the official awareness month for fuel efficiency by encouraging fuel-conscious consumers to sign a petition at http://wh.gov/zAa .
"As America's most fuel-efficient car company, we want to inspire people and show them how fuel efficiency can help their wallets and the planet at the same time, no matter what kind of car they drive," said John Krafcik, president and CEO, Hyundai Motor America. "There's a day, week or month for just about everything else, so we feel the time is right for a national Fuel Efficiency Month to help shine a spotlight on the ecological and economic benefits here."
Fuel Efficiency Month will focus national attention on the need for everyone to take simple measures to improve fuel efficiency such as keeping tires properly inflated, making sure the vehicle is well tuned, improving driving habits and using features like cruise control. The program also includes information about making wise decisions in the vehicle purchase process. These measures will help the U.S. reduce fuel consumption and emissions from fossil fuels.
